Job – Youth Worker – St Peters’, Hale

Posted on: June 15, 2017

Over the years, St Peter’s has run a number of different youth clubs and ministries, and though the Church is currently attracting new families with younger children, we have few older children who regularly attend church.  We are therefore looking to recruit an enthusiastic and capable Youth Worker to work alongside our Children and Families’ Co-ordinator (Volunteer post) and our Vicar to develop our ministry with young people.  We have a small term-time group launched in 2016 that meets fortnightly on Sunday evenings for children aged 9 – 13, and partner with Voicemusic, who run a youth music ministry across the region.  We have the opportunity to develop a monthly youth-oriented evening Worship Service at St Peter’s Church.

The position would be ideally suited to someone with an interest in Pioneer ministry, as the opportunities to develop new contacts and ministries in our community are extensive.  There will also be the opportunity to identify, train and develop lay leaders to offer ongoing support to young people’s ministry.

The role is for a part-time permanent paid position working 18 hours per week including Sundays (mornings and either afternoon or evenings), plus at least two other evening sessions per week.

Salary range £10,000 – £15,000 pa depending on experience.
