A session exploring homosexuality and how we should regard it as Christians. This session can be used to challenge views on homosexuality.
Suitable For Ages 14 upwards
Required: youtube clip (Harry Enfield: Gay Son), Bible Verses, Youth Work magazine from June and September 2007, paper, pens

Session Plan
Homosexuality
Preparation: Write on a board ‘Bisexual’, ‘Gay’, ‘Lesbian’, ‘Homosexuality’ before the session
Introduction: Discuss with the group that whatever is said is to be kept confidential and non-judgemental. (This way the group can feel safe to discuss openly)
Bible Verse: Romans 2: 1- 3
Discuss: We need to remember that tonight we shouldn’t judge each other on opinions or actions because God is the only one who can judge and his judgements are fair.

Groups: Split the young people into two groups giving both a copy of the article on the gay youth worker from Youth work magazine. Give each group a different side to represent in a debate and allow tme around 10/5 minutes to prepare their argument for that site. Also hand the appropriate sides the bible verses available with this resource
Debate: Let the group debate with each other leaders controlling the debate to make sure it doesn’t get out of hand.
Ask: Would it have been different if John was in a heterosexual sexual relationship outside of marriage?
Would your view have changed if he said he wouldn’t have any more homosexual relations?
