Job – Young People’s Pastor – All Saints, Peckham
Posted on: June 5, 2017
Job opportunity from All Saints’, Peckham,
We are looking for the exceptional person God is calling to Peckham to lead an amazing group of 11-18 year olds, inspiring them to be the church of today and to use all their God-given gifts. Our next Young People’s Pastor will be working with them and others in our local community here, building on the great foundations put in place over the last years – in fact since the parish was formed in 1867.
Midweek youth cell groups, a new purpose-built youth space (due for construction this summer), a committed volunteer team of adults, a regular outreach ministry in a nearby secondary school as well as on a local housing estate, plus a programme of popular youth residentials … these are some of the opportunities God has given us. We don’t want someone to do it all. We’re seeking the person God is calling to encourage, inspire, teach and disciple others to join in with what the Holy Spirit is doing.
Could this be you? It might be if you have experienced Jesus using you in both evangelistic and discipleship settings, and are hungry for more of the same; if you’re called to Peckham in all its vibrant SE15 diversity; if you’re not just an enthusiast but also a strategic thinker. We offer a salary of between £25,500 – £27,000 (dependent on experience), a great pension package, 6 weeks holiday entitlement, a well-established and supportive team of 12 other staff members and a generous budget allowance to do the job.
Send your CV and up to 750 words describing why God could be calling you to this job by emailing email@example.com.
The closing date for applications is Monday, July 10th, with interviews being held later that month. All applicants will be told by Wednesday 12th whether they have been shortlisted. If you would value an informal conversation about the post, you can ring our church office on 0203 637 2701, and ask to speak with our vicar, the Reverend Jonathan Mortimer.
