The Fanwood Scout Centre is a scout centre which is open to all groups and has plenty of options to choose from including indoors or camping accommodation options. West End Outdoor Centre – Near Harrogate – Website

The West End Outdoors Centre is a lovely residential centre situated just outside of Harrogate near Blubberhouses. The centre itself is a converted church in the middle of the countryside and has a fantastic variety of dorms and facilities. Alongside this there is a large kitchen and dining area and 2 meeting rooms plus a pool table.

The centre can be booked on a per person basis or for the whole centre. From experience with 12 young people paying £60 it can easily be affordable to hire the whole centre and break even (see our residential guide for budgeting food etc).

Finally the centre is close to some local reservoirs making an excellent location for simple walks.

The Jonas Centre – Redmire – Website

Log Cabins by a Wensleydale village providing holidays for individuals, families and groups. The Jonas Centre is situated in Redmire in North Yorkshire and offers a variety of accommodation for different sized groups. The facilities include a series of log cabins and also a larger building which can be hired for additional cooking facilities.

Carlton Lodge – Thirsk – Website

Carlton Lodge is a centre based just outside of Thirsk in Yorkshire and has a huge variety of options for residentials. The site has 3 centres which can hold between 12 and 40 people which means it can work for a whole variety sized youth groups. Alongside this Carlton Lodge also allow you to add activity packages onto your residential. 

Bramhope Scout Campsite – Bramhope, Leeds – Website

Bramhope Scout Site offers 3 separate buildings which you can hire for residentials, each have different sleeping capacities and it’s a very affordable centre to use. On top of this there are a whole variety of activity add-ons which can make for a fantastic youth residential. These activities include giant push ball, archery, low-ropes course, gladiator ring hire and more!

Offering a variety of educational or activity based residential options the North Yorkshire Outdoor Education Centre have a variety of locations with possibilities for residentials.

Sneaton Castle – Whitby – Website

Sneaton Castle is a converted castle which can be used for both church and youth residentials. They offer a variety of options which can include food. They also have a selection of available meeting rooms. Sneaton Castle is also surrounded by a selection of local activities ideal for walking.

Westwood Christian Centre – Near Huddersfield – Website

With very reasonable rates the Westwood Christian Centre offers facilities ideal for away days or even basic residentials. The centre can take up to 70 during the day and 30 for a sleepover. The Westwood Centre also offer a variety of small flats which can be hired for retreats.

Wydale Hall & Emmaus Centre – Near Scarborough – Website

Wydale Hall is an old country manor which has been converted into a residential centre. There are flexible options for using Wydale and there’s some good sized meeting rooms too. They also have a centre called the ‘Emmaus centre’ which is more suited to youth residentials.
