Discrimination/Judging (Skittles)
For this activity you’ll need a bag of Skittles
1 – Challenge the young people to eat a skittle without seeing what colour it is and guess the flavour? (It’s really difficult). Repeat this several times, most young people will get this wrong.
2 – Were you surprised at how difficult it was to tell the difference between skittles when they all look so different on the outside?
3 – When have you found yourself judging someone based on how they look?
4 – When have you been surprised when you’ve actually got to know someone? When have outward appearances caused you to expect something from someone?
(Suggested bible passage/story: 1 Samuel 16:7)
